LV: Hello, I am a 24 years old girl, I come from Roma community. I will tell my short story.
I am telling a short story of my life in 1999 year, during those years it was war. And, as in any other country the war occurred in Kosovo, too.
As well, we as a community had very difficult time to stay in Kosovo, because we were very insecure, and we were missing all conditions like any community. So, my family and I went to Macedonia in order to go to a place and stay, since it is very difficult to get adapted.
Therefore, my father worked all kind of jobs, all kind of jobs in order to earn bread. Whilst, my mother has been staying home cooking and raising us, her two children.
Thus, this is one part of my story, and when I arrived in Macedonia it was very difficult to go to any house, there, we did not have where to go.
My mother knew some people, that, and we went there at some of my mothers’ relatives whom we knew, because when we arrived in Macedonia we did not have where to go.
We stayed for a couple of months, entire one month until we found a house where to stay with the family, while we stayed there it was pretty difficult, and when we found a house then we felt more fulfilled.
Several months passed and my father got a job, started to work, he also worked different jobs in order to earn bread, while my mother stayed at home to take care of me and my brother.
Whenever I go to Macedonia, I think, I have spent a very difficult childhood there, not like other children, because when you go to another country in which you were not born, you are always foreigner.
Yes, I have many beautiful memories in that country which I went through, but also difficulties that I experienced.
Thus life is challenge, a human shall always be challenged.
That is life too, but you have to face it.
