Interviewer: Can you introduce yourself to us and tell us who you are, what you are, and where you live?

Interviewee: A Serb from the North of Kosovo. 35 years old.

Interviewer: Where are you from, where were you born?

Interviewee: Born in Zvečan.

Interviewer: hmm… Where did you live before the war?

Interviewee: Same place, in Zvečan.

Interviewer: Hmm… Do you remember the time before the war, how people lived with Albanians?!

Interviewee: Well, life was normal. Since my first neighbor houses were Albanians, we lived nicely with them… that is how much I remember.

Interviewer: There were no problems?

Interviewee: There have never been any problems with them. Which I cannot claim for other parts and areas of Kosovo.

Interviewer: Yes, can you describe some examples of some nice mutual help during the war, before the war?!

Interviewee: Well, we went swimming together in the Ibar River before the war, they and us, we had barbecues, hung out and played.

Interviewer: Hmm… Did it continue after the war, that socializing and…?

Interviewee: No, they moved from Zvečan. They no longer live in Zvečan.

Interviewer: Where did you spend your days with your family when the war started?

Interviewee: In Zvečan, at home, all the time.

Interviewer: You were in the house all the time, right?

Interviewee: During bombing, yes.

Interviewer: Hmm… Was there fear, panic among your parents?

Interviewee: Well, not that much, it was not that much. Parents tried to be polite so as not to scare us children.

Interviewer: Hmm, hmm…

Interviewee: It was somewhat a normal atmosphere; as normal as it could be.

Interviewer: Do you remember if anyone from… from close family, or friends, was at war and how it went?

Interviewee: No, none of my friends because my friends and I were young and we were only 13 years old.

Interviewer: Aha, aha…

Interviewee: And I don’t remember about my relatives, otherwise my father would talk, for the others…

Interviewer: How do you feel today when you remember that period of the war from the ‘99th?

Interviewee: Well, bad.

Interviewer: Hmm…

Interviewee: To say bad. To whom the war brought any good, nothing to anyone. One group of people profited, and the rest of the people suffer.

Interviewer: Hmm… So an ugly memory?

Interviewee: Yes, ugly.
